clothesline projectOctober was National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Student Organization Gracefully Igniting Voices Everywhere (G.I.V.E.) in collaboration with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and the Office of Title IX hosted the first Delaware State University Clothesline Exhibit.

The exhibit was displayed in the main lobby of the Martin Luther King Jr. Student Center from Wednesday, September 29, to Wednesday, October 8. Members of GIVE, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council, and the Office of Title IX will also hosted an information table of resources regarding Domestic Violence on September 29.

For more information on the Clothesline Project, please visit: The Clothesline Project - Fighting Violence Against Women. Following is some general information from its website: ”The Clothesline Project (CLP) is a program started on Cape Cod, MA, in 1990 to address the issues of violence against women. It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. The participants then hang their shirts on a clothesline to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against women. With the support of many, it has since spread worldwide.”
